There's something special about seeing my kids' faces light up & giggles abound when this pulled up in front of my house today. Are we country folks or what?
Sincerely...we were excited. 4 deer means that I won't be buying ground meat for a longgggggg while! Thank you, Parkers!!
Uuummm, and now what? Did your hubby pack it in the back of the truck and take it to the butcher??? Did you skin it yourself? It looks cleaned out? Oh my, I don't know what I would do with meat in that condition... I don't want to see it until the butcher has wrapped it neatly in white paper!!
Rachel, Larry & my dad butchered the deer this afternoon & put it into coolers for now. We let it sit (iced down, of course!) for a couple of days. It helps w/ the flavor...don't ask me why, b/c I really don't know the answer...it just does. We'll go back to my dad's in a couple of days & grind all the meat into 1 pound packages.
Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog! I think young marriages end up with a lot of benefits....here are some things you have to look forward to... you'll be a young grandmother who will be able to get down on the floor and play with your grandbabies. Your daughters will grow up to be your friends because there won't be 3 decades separating you....you'll probably live to enjoy 4, maybe 5 generations. That means that you will be listened to for your wisdom. So yay for us child brides!
I am married to the most awesome man alive. I have 3 fabulous kids that make me proud to be their mom every day. I am an unashamed follower of Jesus. Without Him in my life, I wouldn't be who I am. I love to write, so this is my world.

Ewwwww!!! I don't think my face would ever "light up" at the sight of dead animals on a flatbed trailer.
