Update on Larry's dad

This morning, Larry went w/ his grandmother & his dad to the cardiologist.  They were very impressed w/ the doc & his office.  The doctor figured out a few things.  Apparently, the "spells" he is having are most definately caused by his A-fib (funky heart rhythm) and the leaky heart valve.  I'm not sure if they've removed the CHF diagnosis that he got last week when he was in the hospital or if this is in addition to that.  They did an echocardiogram to take a look at the leaky valve & said it's "as big as Dallas".  The doctor said that he wants to do a chemical stress test on his dad in a couple of weeks (Aug 12th) and then he'll go from there.  He said that the heart valve is going to need to be repaired or replaced at some point, but didn't give him a timeline on when.  I assume that the stress test will be part of what helps him decide when it must be done.  He also said that at some point, they're going to hospitalize him for a day & shock his heart back into a normal rhythm.  Since there is so much that needs to be done, they're just going to take things one step at a time.

Continue to keep him in your prayers.

Thanks for the update.  Atleast the doctor seems to know his stuff. That is always comforting to have a professional, knowledgeable doctor that you can trust.
